Welcome to SDCompo 96!
Soundevotion comes from the name of a music group that was active in the Demoscene during the 1990’s. During those days, music tracking competitions were a regular event at Demo parties, on websites (such as GroovyCompo, a big inspiration) and even on IRC. Interest in seeing a regular tracking competition again lead to the development of the Soundevotion Competition. The goal at SDCompo is to bring musicians together to compose and share inspiring and original music.

Ah hello, our first album is finally out! … and the next album is in pretty good shape (most of the composing done). If anyone’s interested in remixing one or two of our tunes, please send me a msg! Couple of remixes are already under construction and will be released as soon as they are finished =)

In case anyone missed it, a thing I did in January/February:
This is an excerpt of music composed and played during a reading of A Wizard of Earthsea by Ursula Le Guin, as adapted and performed by the Golden Isles Arts and Humanities Association as part of the National Endowment for the…[Read more]

The Modulin by the same guy is more in my style (although that huge instrument is amazing too).
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QaW5K85UDR0I’ve always wondered how to play my Renoise synth-solos live.. Now, this is finally possible! LOL
Amazing that there hasn’t been more attention toward this. -

Your cheesecake posing has me laughing 🙂 I wouldn’t like any off-roading in a heavy truck. The tractor alone weighs just shy of 20,000 pounds, and since most of the weight is up front in the form of engine and transmission the nose sinks in even on the 3-foot deep gravel in my driveway. Your old truck could easily weigh twice that filled with…[Read more]

Are there any plans for a new competition?

And some countermeasures against the hack + spambots might be good, too…

Sorry about the spam guys. Trying to find a way to stop the spam signups. The site is in indefinite hiatus for now. I just don’t have the time to maintain it these days and the code is not up to the level I’d like it to be. Even asking someone else to admin the site is too over complex and confusing. I’ll leave the site online for any chatting or…[Read more]

Why don’t return to sdcompo.com?

Sdcompo.com is online only for posterity. The scripts stopped working many years ago. If you mean moving AT to Sdcompo.com, that would be essentially the same as maintaining AudioTournament.com. I’d like it to continue but currently there is nobody who has the understanding and extra time to continue it. I hope it will be active again one day.

any tips on other sites/competitions which are similar to this one? i need something to motivate me (even if i don’t even finally submit something lol)
